The Waters

The Waters met while both were serving as short-term missionaries in Japan.  They married and then returned to Japan as career missionaries.  After serving in Japan for seven years from 1980-1987, they returned to the US for health reasons.

Since then they have served in Southern California ministering to the Japanese under the Mission to the Mission Board.  Their main focus is to minister to Japanese that are temporarily in the United States working for Japanese companies, Japanese students studying in American universities, and first generation Japanese that have immigrated to the United States.

Japanese are much more open to the Gospel message away from Japan, and many of them have returned to Japan with their new found faith in Jesus.

Sharyn comes from Calvary Baptist in Cedar Rapids.  Phil is from Chicago.  Noelridge Park Church has been supporting them since 2001.
